Leeds United are monitoring Rangers star Ryan Kent ahead of the summer, Football Insider understands.

United have a long-standing interest in the winger, 25, whose future is in new doubt with 15 months remaining on his contract.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Kent remains on the club’s radar despite the departure of firm admirer Marcelo Bielsa last month.

Leeds United

The Premier League outfit could make a fresh move once their Premier League status is secured.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in September 2020 that Kent has a £20million release clause in his current contract.

That figure would represent the Ibrox club's record sale, eclipsing the circa £16m they raked in from Nathan Patterson's move to Everton last summer.

Kent has spent four seasons with the Glasgow giants after signing from Liverpool, initially on loan, ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

He has registered 30 goals and 43 assists in 163 appearances in that time, including three goals and 15 assists this term.

The Oldham-born winger was a fulcrum of the side that won the Scottish Premiership for the first time in a decade in 2020-21.

He was named the in PFA Scotland Team of the Year for his exploits that season, which included 13 goals and 15 assists.

Leeds are seven points clear of the relegation zone in 16th place in the Premier League, while Rangers trail Celtic by three points in Scotland.
